Reference Doc Area “Salice Salentino” - Strada del vino n° 8 Vigna del Sole - Associated with: Movimento Turismo del vino, Slow Food, Consorzio tutela e promozione Salice Salentino Doc, AIS – Leone de Castris winery is located in a mid-XVII century building, where, among ancient pictures, art and culture, the visitor discovers the magic of our noble Salento wines.

Activities schedule:

Welcoming in our cellar - company introduction with historical outlines;
Visit of the cellar; deep look at the winemaking process, from grapes’arrival at the cellar to the bottling of finished wine (vinification methods for red, rosé and white wines);
Visit of the barrel room (wines’refinement and aging area);
From 2008 the visit will include a tour in the museum;
Tasting of Leone de Castris’ selection of wines (sensory examination, at sight, nose, taste and savour sensation about the wine introduced), matched with dry Salento’s traditional specialities, friselline dressed with our extra-virgin olive oil “Villa La Rena”;
Opportunity to buy all our products at the near wineshop “Il Bottegone di Leone de Castris”

WHEN The cellar can be visited from Monday to Friday at the following time: From 8:30 to 12:00 and from 14:30 to 17:00.

BOOKING All guided tours and tastings have to be booked 2 days before the date of arrival.
